Cider
- 1⁄4 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 3 cups apple cider
- 1⁄2 cup water

caramel whipped cream
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
directions
- First, bring the cream and brown sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the cider and the water and raise the heat to medium high, heating just until the cider begins to steam, about 4 minutes.
- Divide among 4 mugs, top each one with 2 tablespoons of caramel whipped cream (recipe follows) and serve immediately.
- Caramel Whipped Cream: In a small chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the brown sugar until soft peaks form.

Ok, first of all this was delicious. But it should be noted in BOLD PRINT that the cider must not be boiling...it curdles the cream! Which makes for a very ugly drink and one that you can't serve to your teenage daughter's friends after they've been outside playing in the snow! The cider should be warmed only. Add the cream and if its still not warm enough warm them together a little more gradually. Be very careful though not to curdle the cream. it's a touchy enough recipe that it does require babysitting. But as for being DELICIOUS and getting oohs and ahhhs (and a "thanks, mom"-hug) it is well worth it!!!Reply

This is pretty good! It s very sweet. I made it this morning and followed the directions. It was a little too sweet for me. I made it again and used less brown sugar and it came out judt right. If you like a sweet hot drink, this is for you. I will be making this again. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Made for the PAC Fall '07 game.Reply
