Orange Cake

ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 whole orange
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups flour
directions
- Remove seeds and 1/2 of rind from orange.
- Grind or chop orange and raisins together.
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Milk can be sweet or sour.
- Add eggs, milk, orange and raisin mixture.
- Stir in flour mixture.
- Bake 350 for 30 minutes in a 9x13 or in layer pans.
- Add a bit of orange peel to white icing or serve plain with ice cream or whipping cream.
