Ooie Gooey Butter Cake Aka Friendship Cake
"When I was a little girl, my best friends mom use to make this cake. I would eat so much of it I would make myself sick. This cake is just like its title, Ooie Gooey. People have a tendency to cook this cake too long so make sure you dont over cook."

- 1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
- 1⁄2 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 cup butter, unmelted
- 2 eggs
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- 16 ounces powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a 9"x13" pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, hand mix 1 box Yellow Cake Mix, 1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter and 1 Egg.
- Pat/spread the mixture in the bottom of the greased 9"x13" pan. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl combine the remaining ingredients and beat for approximately 4 minutes until mixture is smooth.
- Pour mixture evenly over spread and bake for 35 minutes.
- DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cake should be golden brown around the edges and somewhat gooey in the center.

This does rank up there as one of the best cakes ever, and I agree, I could eat it till I get sick! This is the same recipe that we've used for as long as I can remember....if you've never made this cake you need to give it a try!
