directions

  • heat oven to 375*F.
  • in a 2-quart casserole melt 1/4 cup butter in oven for 4 to 6 minutes.
  • stir in bread cubes.
  • in medium bowl slightly beat eggs, stir in remaining pudding ingredients "except bananas".
  • stir in bananas.
  • pour over bread cubes, stir to coat.
  • bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean.
  • meanwhile in a 1 quart saucepan melt 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
  • stir in sugar and cornstarch, add remaining ingredients "except for vanilla".
  • continue cooking, stirring occasionally until sauce come to a full boil, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • stir in vanilla.
  • serve sauce over warm pudding.
