This recipe came from a dear friend of mine. Everytime I was experiencing difficulties of some sort, she would show up with a nice warm batch of these cookies. They are my comfort cookie!

  1. Cream together the sugars and shortening.
  2. Add eggs.
  3. Sift and add the flour, soda and salt.
  4. Stir in coconut, nuts and oatmeal.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees. The length of time depends on how large the cookie is. Check them after 8 minutes or so.
