    Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Ethel Reiner.

    Ingredients:

    Yield:

    Directions:

    1. 1
      Cream butter and sugar.
    2. 2
      Add the egg, baking soda, sifted flour, cinnamon and salt.
    3. 3
      Add vanilla and apples. This mixture will be thick and may have to be mixed by hand.
    4. 4
      Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees in greased 10 x 10 x 2 inch pan.

      This is a wonderful treat. It is very simple to make which is a real plus. It does not have a cake texture though, it is more like a chewy brownie. I guess you could say it is a blondie that is chock full of apple! It would definitely be good served warm with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream on top...not very diet friendly but YUMMY! Thanks for posting. Made for Aus/NZ swap 16
