Smooth coffee with a zing
- Make a pot of coffee as usual, except in the filter add about a pinch of crushed mint.
- Warm 1/2 a cup of milk on the stove or in the microwave till WARM.
- Mix 1 cup mint coffee with milk.
- Add sugar to taste.
This was great on a cold morning! I used about 1 tablespoon of fresh mint (I have chocolate mint growing in a pot) and Splenda, and frothed the milk. I recommend fresh mint, as dried mint tends to lose its flavor. I made mine in a French press pot, steeped for 4 minutes. Made for Spring 2008 PAC.
This was pretty good, but we hoped for more mint flavor. We also were not sure what size pot of coffee you make for 1 pinch of mint. We made 3 cups and used 3 pinches of dried mint. We tasted more of the vanilla than mint, but it was good anyway. Next time will use more mint. Thanks for sharing your recipe~
