ingredients
- 1 lb dried currant, rinsed
- 1 lb seedless raisin, rinsed
- 3 large apples, cored and chopped (leave skins on)
- 1 lb mixed candied fruit peel
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 lb suet, chopped fine
- 1 lemon, juice and grated peel
- 1 lb brown sugar
- ground nutmeg
- cinnamon
- allspice
directions
- Combine all ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
- Pour mixture into a large covered jar.
- Store in refrigerator until needed.

I have not made this recipe. However, in my book, suet is meat. Won't it spoil if it's mixed in this recipe, uncooked, and stored in a jar in the fridge until you want to use it? Sounds like a recipe for food poisoning. Otherwise, the fruit and spices look very tasty and would probably be good on their own, without the suet.
