Million Dollar Cookies

"This recipe was on Studio 5 today and it looked so good and versitile I just had to post it here to save it. You can also add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or raisins to batter before chilling, and bake as directed."

  • Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract in a large bowl until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar, add gradually to creamed mixture. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mold dough into 1-inch balls. Place onto greased cookie sheets. Flatten each cookie with bottom of a drinking glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Store in covered container.
