Growing up this was always one of my favorite things to eat. My Grandmother would often make this special treat for me when I came to visit. To this day it's my favorite comfort food, when I'm craving something a little sweet.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 cups water, boiled
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups rice
  • 2 quarts whole milk


  1. Boil 2 cups of water.
  2. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt & 2 cups rice.
  3. Boil 2 minutes.
  4. Add 2 quarts whole milk.
  5. Bring to boil.
  6. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature until all milk is absorbed.
  7. Refrigerate untill cool, (about 3 hrs), or serve warm. It's good both ways.
  8. Serve with sugar and cinnamon on top.
