- 1⁄2 lb butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1⁄2 cup poppy seed
directions
- Beat Butter until very soft and shiny.
- Add sugar; beat for several minutes until light and fluffy and whitish colored.
- Beat eggs in small bowl; add extracts to the eggs.
- Add egg mixture to butter mixture and beat unfil fluffly.
- Alternately add flour and milk; mix until combined.
- Stir in poppyseeds.
- Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
- Bake at 300 degrees for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, or until long toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
- Cool 15 minutes.
