  1. Heat oil in large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and sauté five minutes, until tender.
  3. Add garlic and sauté two minutes, until fragrant.
  4. Add Italian seasoning and cook one minute more.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, pepperoncini, and spices.
  6. Reduce heat to low, simmer one hour.
  7. Add red wine, cook five minutes more.
