I've personally never made this, but it comes from my great grandmothers cook book. She used to make it for special occasions.

Have been making this for a few years now for lent (minus the bacon of course) and it is excellent! Thank you for posting this and sorry it took so long to rate and comment.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. In deep pot saute bacon till crisp.
  2. Stir in thyme and onion and cook until tender.
  3. Add potato, celery, water, salt and pepper to hot water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add undrained tomatos, undrained clams, and bacon mixture to pot.
  5. Simmer uncovered over low heat for 1 hour.
  6. Add salt, pepper and parsley to taste.
  7. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
