This is a great recipe to stuff in the neck cavity of your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey, while using a traditional bread stuffing in the main cavity. The lemon and sausage are a wonderful combination. The best part is the richness, flavor and color that it adds to the gravy.
- 2 lbs ground sausage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon ground sage
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons grated fresh lemon rind
- 1⁄4 cup breadcrumbs, fine
- 2 tablespoons chicken or 2 tablespoons turkey broth
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Mix all ingredients together and stuff!
