Good Recipe. My husband really liked it (he is a meat & potatoes kind of guy). I thought it needed a little more flavor; maybe some fresh chopped garlic instead of the powder. I did mis-read the recipe and browned my ground beef before adding it to the casserole, and it was really watery/soupy below the potatoes when I pulled it out..don't know if that was caused by the pre-browned meat. Anyhow, overall it was good! THANKS!
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 potatoes, sliced
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup
Directions See How It's Made
- In a 2 quart baking dish, layer half the onion, celery and green pepper. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Top with ground beef sprinkled with garlic powder.
- Pour over tomato sauce.
- Top with remaining onion, celery and green pepper.
- Arrange potatoes over top and cover with soup.
- Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for 1 1/2 hours.
