ingredients

• 1 cup soy sauce
• 1⁄2 cup dark corn syrup
• 1⁄3 cup sugar
• 2⁄3 cup water
• 1 1 inch ginger, sliced or 2 teaspoons ginger, powdered
• 1⁄4 cup rice wine or 1/4 cup sake
• 1 teaspoon black pepper

1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan and simmer on low heat until thick.
