- 1 1⁄4 lbs beef stew meat
- 1 lb carrot, sliced
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cups cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1⁄2 cup red wine
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope Lipton onion mushroom dry soup mix
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 cup reduced-fat sour cream
- egg noodles
directions
- Mix all ingredients except sour cream in crock pot. Cover & cook on low 8 - 10 hours until tender. Turn off & stir in sour cream until well blended. Serve over hot cooked egg noodles.

A good stew for a chilly night! I was taking a chance with DH since he really isn't wild about stews especially stews with cabbage. He wasn't a fan, but he ate the full bowl. I enjoyed it and liked how easy it was to make. I might add fewer carrots next time, but overall a good thick stew. Congrats on your win in the 2010 Football Pool!
