This is a recipe my friend gave me. She's on a gluten free detox and said it was delicious.

I'm not sure I should rate this, as I changed it so much; but here goes. I doubled the recipe, but didn't use lime juice as I didn't have any. I had no fresh ginger, so I sprinkled a little ginger powder. Didn't use peanuts for the same reason. I used 1/8 teaspoon cayenne instead of the black pepper. I ended up adding 1/2 pound more ground turkey to tame the spices a bit. I added an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce to add some liquid, since I had no lime juice to add. I think it would be equally good with the right ingredients, but this was great! Everyone in the house actually liked it (very unusual). A good use for my highly productive lettuce garden - thanks!

  1. heat onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
  2. add ground turkey and cook thoroughly.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. serve in a bowl and add a spoonful to the middle of a lettuce leaf.
  5. wrap, eat and enjoy.
