I thought they were too sweet when hot. Ate them the next day and it tasted better. I think I would add nuts next time and omit the raisins. not bad! it was a nice change for breakfast!

  1. Preheat oven to 375 deg F/190 deg Celsius Grease 18 cups of 2 1/2 inch muffin pans.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and the spices in a bowl.
  3. Mix in a bowl the applesauce, melted butter and eggs.
  4. Stir this into the dry ingredients until moistened. Stir in 1 1/2 cup oats and the raisins.
  5. Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, and sprinkle tops with rest of oats.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Remove from pans.
