- 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried basil or 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 2 1⁄2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups low-fat milk
- 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese, and romano cheeses (Trader Joe's)
- salt & pepper
directions
- Saute garlic in butter on medium heat.
- Whisk in flour, herbs, and finally the milk.
- Heat until the sauce thickens to your liking and season with salt & pepper.
