Most cultures have a pea/lentil soup and this one is the Danish version. Posted for ZWT 6. The Vienna sausages are optional.

  1. Place all the ingredients into a large pot, bring to the boil and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  2. Remove the hock from the soup and remove the meat from the bone, chop into small pieces and put back into soup.
  3. Serve.
