Asian Grilled Green Beans

- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1⁄2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 1⁄2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 medium red onion, halved and thinly sliced
- 6 medium fresh mushrooms, quartered
directions
- In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Add the beans, onion and mushrooms; toss to coat.
- Place half of the vegetables on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil (about 18 inches square); fold foil around vegetables and seal tightly. Repeat with remaining vegetables.
- Grill, covered, over medium heat for 18-22 minutes or until beans are tender, turning packets over several times to get an even coating of the sauce on all the vegetables. Open foil carefully to allow steam to escape.

These were soooo good! I made about 1/2 lb and had to cook them in the oven since I am out of propane so I did add a little extra sauce to make sure there was enough. I cooked them @ 400 degrees F for about 15 minutes and they were nice and tender. I also sliced the mushrooms and diced the onion to make sure they cooked through. Will be making these again! Made for ZWT9.

I don't like to cook things that require going to specialized grocery stores. I subscribe to several cooking magazines, that usually, require everyday on-hand ingredients. <br /><br />I am not very fond of most seafood, but do enjoy lobster, grilled shrimp and chilean sea bass. I won't cook anything with rosemary or curry, as I really don't like either herbs' flavor. And now from trying recipes, I found that I don't like dijon mustard, but love vinegar and mustard, not sure why I don't like the taste of dijon mustard.</p>
