This is a refreshing jello salad that is a staple of our family get togethers. This is a recipe from my Grandmother. We now joke about making this jello months in advance (don't do it!!), because my Grandmother brought it for a family dinner and said she had made it weeks before - we could not eat it, but did not have the heart to tell her. It was the beginning signs of Alzheimer's :( for her. I hope she is not spinning in her grave since I am sharing this recipe. We miss her and think of her when we have this jello for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Dissolve gelatin in 2 1/4 cup boiling water.
  2. Drain pineapple and add 1/4 cup of the pineapple liquid to the gelatin mixture.
  3. Add pineapple to gelatin.
  4. Pour into 9 x 13 glass casserole and refrigerate until soft set.
  5. Mix the softened cream cheese and milk together until combined.
  6. Add the nuts to cheese/milk mixture.
  7. Mix the jello mixture and cream cheese mixture together.
  8. Refrigerate overnight and cut into squares to serve.

This recipe has special meaning in our family....Our Mother (That passed away in 2013) Has made this for every holiday dinner & everyone loved it....The only thing different that she did was use Marshmallows instead of Pecans <3 :) Thank you for sharing this

I served this last St. Patty's Day (I'm playing catch up on reviews) and my kids loved it. We all did. It wasn't too sweet that we all liked. I am planning on making it again this week....yummy. Thank you for posting....Stephanie

This is one of my favorite salads and this Easter I made it myself with this recipe. I drained the pineapple and added 1/4 of the liquid to the gelatin mixture. I knew something was wrong right from the beginning -- and later figured out the liquids should have been around 6 cups. This recipe called for barely 3 cups. Needless to say, I threw the liquid from the pineapple away because the recipe did not say to use it (I only used 1/4 cup). This jello salad was so firm that it was uneatable! Further, I cannot see any reason for draining the pineapple and then adding it into the jello. :(
