I tried this for supper tonight. I didn't exactly follow the recipe as written though. I have found out, since, that the french onion dip and chilies mixture was supposed to spread over the potatoes before the onion and cheese layers. However, since I didn't know that as I was making it, I just mixed it in with the potatoes like you would a soup and then layered half the potatoes, cheese and onions twice. Then, I baked it. It tasted very good. That french onion dip gave it a wonderful flavor. This is a very good blend of ingredients and the recipe is quite easy to make. Everyone in the family liked it and even my picky eater had a second helping. I think sauteed grated mushrooms would be good in this too. Thanks for sharing it!!
