Greek-Style Chickpeas With Greens and Tomatoes

I found this recipe at and tweaked it a little. You can use any type of greens such as spinach, kale, chard etc. I used spinach and that is reflected in the recipe. You can also substitute canned diced tomatoes for the fresh ones.


  1. Saute the onions and garlic in oil in a large pot.
  2. Add the chickpeas and tomatoes.
  3. Season with chili flakes, paprika, and oregano and let simmer for about 5 minute.
  4. Add the spinach and wine and cook until the spinach is wilted. Then add the lemon juice.
  5. Serve over orzo.
