- 11 cups oatmeal
- 2 cups shredded coconut
- 1 1⁄2 cups sunflower seeds
- 1 1⁄2 cups oat bran
- 3⁄4 cup flax seed
- 1 1⁄4 cups almonds
- 3⁄4 cup wheat germ
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 1⁄2 cups raisins
- 1⁄2 cup dried cranberries
- 3⁄4 cup prune
- 1⁄2 cup dried apricot, chopped
- 1 1⁄4 cups water
- 1 1⁄4 cups canola oil
- 1 1⁄4 cups liquid honey
directions
- Mix dry ingredients.
- Boil liquid ingredients.
- Mix together.
- Heat oven to 250 degrees.
- Bake for 1.5 hours stirring every fifteen minutes. Store in air tight container and also freezes very well.

This is terrific granola. Some may be put off by the size of the recipe, but it halved beautifully. I baked the halved recipe in two batches, on baking sheets covered with baking paper. Next time I'm going to try eliminating, or at least reducing the oil in the interest of lower calorie count. We enjoy it with plain low-fat yogurt for breakfast and it really keeps you going until lunch. Thanks Douglas.
