Gingerbread Waffles

"I found this recipe years ago when our boys were very young and it became a family favorite for special Saturday night dinners. These waffles were a treat because we served them with vanilla ice cream. The kids thought is was pretty special to be having dessert for dinner. Of course they can also be served with maple syrup for a delicious breakfast."

  1. Made these up as directed, but another time I'd like to use dark brown sugar, 'cause I really enjoy the taste of molasses! GREAT, WONDERFUL TASTING GINGERBREAD! Definitely want to try these topped with maple syrup & toasted pecans! Thanks for posting this keeper! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in the current Pick-A-Chef]

My husband and I are empty-nesters who moved to Nampa, Idaho in October, 2005. I love to walk, and here in Nampa it is particularly enjoyable because of all the animals, something that was not a part of my walks in California. I started writing about the subject of hospitality last year, and began posting the articles on our website, as well as "articles" sites on the "net". This has become a passion for me as I have watched people in our society becoming less and less connected. My husband and I are Christians, and as such, believe we have a responsibility to welcome others into our home, to be hospitable, if you will. <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/adoptedspring08.jpg">
