German Chocolate Delight

"This non-alcoholic beverage is refreshing and different. I'll bet your kids will love it, as well as your adult friends. This could be made with alcohol, if desired; the addition of some chocolate liqueur would make this really decadent! Taken from Flora's Drink Hideout.com and posted for ZWT."

• Ingredients: 6
• Yields: 1 drink
• Serves: 1

ingredients

• 2 scoops chocolate ice cream
• 2 cups milk
• 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
• 1 ounce cream of coconut
• 1 tablespoon chopped pecans
• whipped cream (to garnish)

directions

1. Blend milk, syrup and cream of coconut.
2. Add ice cream and blend until smooth (about 30 seconds).
3. Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream.
4. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.

This was perfect for our still very hot and humid weather!!! I made 1/2 of the recipe, using a bit more ice cream, to make it thicker, and didn't add the pecans. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for Almost 5 Tag Game.

Yum! Very simple and good. I didn't add the pecans as I was out. I'm with momaphet - next time I'll add some Godiva or Amarula. Thanks Alli for a nice treat and congrats again on your Super Bowl win!!

This was a lovely cold treat for a very hot summer night. I found it too a little bit too sweet for me (maybe I'm getting old), but still quite tasty. I did add a little extra coconut cream to get the flavor to come through and I skipped the whipped cream. I would love to try it again with a darker chocolate syrup and a little Godiva Liqueur. Made for "Everyday's a Holiday August 2010" tag.

This is very good, love the addition of the coconut and pecans! Made as is and got 2 smaller (kid friendly) sized drinks out of it. Made for ZWT6 Germany.

I got overly carried away with using chocolate (that, from a died-in-the-woll chocoholic!) & substituted chocolate milk for the regular milk! And, another time I might just (gasp!) go without the real whipped cream & jetson some CHOCOLATE Reddi Whip on it! Thanks much for the great fix! [Made & reviewed while in Germany with ZWT6]
