This was pretty good chili. I'm a guy, but neither a kid nor a husband. I actually like onions and beans (not pureed) in my chili, so I was a bit skeptical about this method. I made it exactly as written, using a mixture of 85% and 93% ground beef; the exact same beans (Bush's mild); I went low on the cumin (2 T.) and high on the hot chili powder (3 T., from Penzeys). The only exception was that I accidentally bought a can of diced tomatoes instead of stewed, not that it mattered much to my blender. It did take me two batches to blend the veggies together. The results were pretty tasty. The blended veggies added some nice body, especially to reheated leftovers - it wasn't watery like I'd feared. I'd still prefer a chunkier chili, I think, but this was still quite tasty. Thanks!
