This is a recipe from when I was a teen. My mom used to make me plain fried bologna and as I got older I started adding the cheese.
- 2 slices white bread, buttered on one side
- 2 slices bologna
- 1 slice American cheese
- 1 slice provolone cheese
- Place one slice of buttered bread, butter-side down, in a skillet on medium heat. Lay American cheese, bologna and provolone cheese, and top with the remaining bread slice, butter-side up. Cook covered until lightly browned. Flip and cook covered on other side until lightly browned.
We use to make this a lot when the kids were small. They and their friends loved them. Didn't add Provolone, but other than that just the same. Thanks for the memories. Toni in Colorado
I made these on Friday for lunch. When I grill mine, I usually just use American cheese. But I loved the taste the additional provolone gives this sandwich! I'll be making mine like this from now on. I did not use any butter as I put them on my George Foreman Grill. Made for *Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup 2009* game
Brings back memories - except without the provolone.
