My mother and grandmother both used this recipe every spring and summer as the lettuce started to produce in the garden. It is quick and simple with only a few ingredients, yet served with just fresh leaf lettuce and spring onions, so good! You might have to adjust the ingredients depending on what you like better, sweet or tart.
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Do not shake in dressing in a salad dressing shaker, the cream will become too thick to pour!
- Chill in fridge till ready to serve.
Just like my grandma used to make! I will never forget the huge garden she had, and in the summertime having fried chicken (that she butchered, cleaned, and cut up), sliced tomatoes, creamed baby potatoes and peas, and fresh salad greens with this dressing. Such a blessing to have so many wonderful memories of her. Thank you for posting this recipe!
As far as memories go - this is right up there. Snow ice cream in the winter, fresh greens with a little dressing in the summer, and pop's fried oysters Christmas morning. What wonderful memories. Thanks so much for posting!
