- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 40 g butter (for pan)
- 4 slices bread (thick)
directions
- Break eggs into a wide shallow dish and add the milk and vanilla extract.
- Beat mixture with a fork.
- Dip the bread into the egg mixture; let the excess run off; place in a buttered pan.
- Cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
- When it is golden underneath, turn the bread over and cook other side.
- Transfer the french toast to a plate.
- When done, serve with ground cinnamon or sugar.
