I never liked French toast until I found how to manipulate the flavor so it was not so egg-y. My kids eat this up and want to have it everyday. I like to add extra cinnamon.
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 4 -6 slices bread
- 2 teaspoons butter
- Mix eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Beat well so that it is well mixed. Heat skillet on medium and add a teaspoon of butter. Soak bread slices and place in skillet once butter is melted. Fry until it is brown and flip to brown other side.
Excellent French toast. However there is enough egg mixture for many more slices of bread so next time I would halve it.
I am unable to star this because this was my first time making french toast...that being said, I had a very hard time with my bread falling apart...I would suggest that anyone who is making this first try to sear the bread on high so that flipping is easier. I also found out that I was out of syrup as I was cooking so instead I placed some cream cheese and apple butter in mine, and so far so good.
