Flaky Pie Crust

"My sister-in-law gave me this basic pie crust recipe and I use it for a variety of items such as pies, tarts, savory pies and cobblers. When making this crust don't throw the leftover crust away...simply brush with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, place in the oven and bake till slightly brown. A nice little treat for the kids or yourself :)."

  1. i had a very difficult time- followed recipe exactly, tried to roll out andkept cracking or splitting around edges, added a couple drops of water- tried again, still same and repeated again. Was a little better but could not roll or flip into pie pan- it fell apart !!!! needless to say- it went in the trash

  2. This crust has a great taste to it. I did have difficulty with it. First time was my fault I added too much water...next time it came out right. I needed another one and it stuck to everything. I ended up having to roll out between wax paper.

  3. I love this crust! It's just like the one in the old Betty Crocker cookbook I've been using for years! Tender and flaky ~ never fail for me! Thanks for posting, my cookbook has seen better days and those pages are becomg almost unreadable *lol*

  4. This was my first time making a pie and I wanted to make my own crust. Thanks this recipe was so easy, I used golden crisco (don't know if that makes a difference but that's all I had). It turned out great.
