A light textured dumpling--great for topping your family's favorite chicken soup.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2⁄3 cup milk
- Sift together they dry ingredients.
- Add egg, melted butter and enough milk to make a moist, stiff batter.
- Drop by teaspoon into boiling soup.
- Cook, covered without "peeking" for 18-20 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy.
