This is an adodpted recipe. I will post any revisions after I make it. Embutido is a traditional Filipino-style meatloaf. A terrific ready-to-eat idea that's perfect to take along for lunch or sandwich filling Prep time includes chilling.
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Roll mixture in foil and steam for 1 hour.
- Let cool.
- Chill for 4 hours or overnight.
- Slice diagonally.
i just tried this recipe and it tastes great! i did a little variation on the original recipe though. instead of regular tomato sauce, i used ketchup. ( i figured since embutido is usually served with ketchup on top, might as well put it inside it too!) also, i boiled 2 eggs and cut them up into quarters and put them in the middle of the roll. i ended up making two logs out of the same amount ingredients. we ate one for dinner and i froze the second one to be heated whenever we wanted to have it. :)
I made this recipe and it taste 'GREAT" Besides the beaten eggs and some chopped red bell peppers and hotdogs, I also stuffed them with some long strips of peppers and hotdogs and also hard boiled eggs slice it into four. When you get to slice the embutido you get some color in the middle. It is more presentable and colorful. My 2 year old daughter loved it. Thanks for sharing.
