Elvis Spaghetti

"This is a recipe a friend of mine brought back on a post card from TN when she saw Graceland. It makes a bunch, and it is much nicer than the jarred sauce."

  1. Loved it! Like any True Zaar Addict I print recipes and take them with me on holiday.. this recipe was made last week during our stay in Portugal. I messed it up a little due to lack of ingredients in the small village we stayed in, no celery or tomato sauce or tomato paste in the tinsy tiny local small shop. I made this 3 times but the 2nd lot was wolfed down so fast that I didn't get a chance to get a photo. First photo shows it sans tomato sauce and I was only able to simmer it for 50 minutes becuase the hordes were too restless to wait longer for their food. Then we met a Scottish gent who gave us his leftover food supplies (from an out of town supermarket) before leaving for the airport and amongst the garlic and onions was tomato sauce! so the 2nd and third versions did have that at least. I had some sweet corn from another recipe and shoved that in the 3rd version, and simmered it for about 2.5 hours... excallent! Portugese garlic, tomatoes and onions have to be tasted to be believed.. HEAVEN , so full of taste!!! Please see my rating system: 5 stars for a recipe that oozes flavour and which will be a favourite in our house from now on! Thanks!

It's how I show my love to friends and family. I love 'Zaar! My mom told me about it, and I just can't look away! I love reading how others have changed recipes, and how tried and true recipes can be just a bit better with one more ingredient. Here's to good food!</p>
