Easy Instant Hot Chocolate Mix

"Not a fancy beverage, this is just a basic hot chocolate to enjoy anytime without a hassle or much clean-up. It is also good used to flavor coffee; add a tablespoon of the mix to a cup of hot coffee for a mocha effect."

• Ingredients: 4
• Serves: 21

ingredients

• 4 cups powdered milk
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 1 cup cocoa powder
• 3 dashes salt

directions

1. Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Store in an airtight container.
2. To make hot chocolate: For each serving, place 1/3 cup of the mix in a mug or thick glass. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir well.

This mix is just okay for me. I don't always like the super sweet mixes, but this one was not sweet enough. Personally, I want to rate this 3 stars on taste alone, but will give 4 because it's a recipe that does not include some sort of instant drink mix. Thank you for that!

Tagged for Comfort Cafe 2009. This is a perfect mix to have o9n hand especially here in the snow belt. Made a batch the other night to give to the kids after they drove here in an ice storm. They liked it especially with the marshmallows on top. ( no alcohol added as they were supposed to drive back but ended up staying here for safety) I did cut it to 8 servings. I also added in powdered coffee creamer (1/4 c for 8 servings) to make it creamier. YUMMMMMY

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for when I searched for 'Hot Chocolate Mix'!!! Not too sweet! I love dark chocolate!! I may add more powdered sugar when I make this for gifts this December, altho it's perfect for me just the way it is. Thanks CatlingMex for providing the perfect mix!
