This is a good icing for cut out cookies. For variety you can try lemon, almond or peppermint flavoring.
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla or 1⁄2 teaspoon other flavoring
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons cream or 1 1⁄2 tablespoons half-and-half
- Blend sugar, salt and flavoring.
- Add cream to make easy to spread.
- If desired, tint with a few drops of food coloring.
- Spread on cookies with small knife or spatula.
