Dutch Date Loaf Candy

"From an old church cookbook. My grandmother made this candy for years but I never got her recipe. Not sure if this would be as good."

• Serves: 15

ingredients

• 2 cups white sugar
• 1 cup dates
• 1 cup nuts, chopped
• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1 cup milk

directions

1. Cook sugar and milk to a soft -ball stage.
2. Add dates; beat until dates desolve.
3. When stiff, add nuts and roll in a wet towel.
4. Place in refrigerator.
5. After 1 hour, it may be sliced.
