Basic fried chicken with an oriental flair. This is from the Nu'uanu Congregational Church's 1985 Centennial Cookbook.
- 3 1⁄2 lbs chicken, cut into pieces
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch
- 4 teaspoons mochiko sweet rice flour
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 4 teaspoons soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- Wash chicken and dry pieces with paper towel.
- Mix all other ingredients and pour over chicken. Place in covered container and marinate in refrigerator overnight.
- Deep fry.
My family really enjoyed this! We really enjoyed the batter on the chicken. The kids stated it was "kinda sweet". Thanks so much!! Made for unrated Asian tag.
