- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 lb bulk sausage (Italian mild or hot)
- 1 cup red pepper
- 1 cup celery
- 1 cup onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1⁄2 cup flour
- 2 cups beef stock
- 2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (4 ounce) can jalapeno peppers
- 1⁄4 cup chili powder
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 (15 1/2 ounce) cans chili beans
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can black beans
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can pinto beans
directions
- Brown meat then add vegetables and garlic sauté until vegetables are soft.
- Add flour and stir until browned then add stock and let thicken about two minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer for at least an hour.
