Honey is the secret ingredient here. This is how my dad has always made them for us.
- 4.92 ml honey
- 4.92 ml brown sugar
- 85.04 g rum (~2 shots)
- 9.85 ml butter (a pat)
- 2 whole cloves
- Place ingredients in a mug and fill with boiling water.
- Allow to sit a few minutes for the spices to steep.
- Enjoy responsibly!
This was way too strong for us. I tried it because most of the other hot buttered rum recipes are for large batches and it was for just two of us. Neither me or my BF could drink it. It really just tasted like watered down rum. Just not for us.
