  • Combine cake mix, 1 egg, butter and nuts to the consistancy of cookie dough.
  • Press into a 9X13 baking dish.
  • Mix 3 eggs, cream cheese and powdered sugar and blend with electric mixer until smooth.
  • Pour over cake mix.
  • Bake at 325 deg.
  • for 40 minutes.

  1. This dessert had a bit of a different texture than what I was expecting... the cream-cheese layer is actually more of a custard, which I thought was surprising and really good! (MY mistake was using a 9" springform pan, thinking that this would make a pretty cake! It looked great, but the yellow-cake layer turned into cement while baking! My advice is to stick with that 9x13" dish!) Regardless of my mistake, the entire dessert was inhaled by everyone. I can't wait to make it again, the "right" way next time! Thanks for posting this awesome recipe! :)
     
  2. Super easy AND super yummy! I did abit of ammending as I work with a group of chocoholics! I used a fudge cake mix for the base and added a cup of mini chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture. It was heaven, rich and delicious. I also used 2 cups of powdered sugar as I didn't have a box. I can't wait to try this with the yellow cake mix topped with berries. Thanks Garnet for the great recipe!
