These were made both as a trial run to see how they'd turn out & also to share at one of the weekly gatherings we attend! Passed with flying colors on both counts! I did follow the recipe right on down, but used just a regular round cutter this time! Will be making these again during the end-of-year holidays, though, & then I'll get fancy! Many thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this fall's round of Pick A Chef]

  1. Cream sugar, butter, cream cheese, salt, extract, and egg yolk until light. Add flour blending well. Chill dough several hours or overnight.
  2. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375°F.
  3. Using a section at a time, roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness on a floured cloth. Cut into desired shapes and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 7-10 minutes or until light golden. Cool on rack.
