Cut out Cookies

"I got this recipes years ago from a church cookbook I bought from a co worker. These cookies are now a holiday tradition at our house. Even though my sons are grown and have moved 2000 miles away, I still make these cookies and send them to 'my boys'. Hope you enjoy them"

  1. This dough was a breeze to work with! Always a plus with sugar cookies. I used just 1 egg, and a butter/Crisco combination. Next time I might use all butter - not sure of that shortening taste in the cookies (personal preference). I chilled the dough for a mere hour and it was ready to go. It rolled out beautifully, cookies did not puff much in the oven and have a tender texture, mostly crisp. Not too sugary. I baked at 375 convection and found 7 minutes to be perfect. Great recipe! Happy New Year!
