Cousin Nancy's Rum Balls

Nancy gave this recipe to mom who then took over and made them for years. A Christmas or New Year's Party, any winter holiday party wouldn't be complete without them. Also make for interesting gifts in those holiday gift baskets. So easy to make, too. A 12 oz. pkg. of wavers should equal the needed three cups. Use bourbon if preferred. There is no baking involved.

Ingredients:

Yield: 24 cookies

• 3 cups finely crushed vanilla, wavers
• 1 cup confectioners' sugar
• 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
• 1 cup finely chopped pecans
• 1/4 cup light corn syrup
• 1/2 cup rum or 1/2 cup Bourbon
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix all ingredients except 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
2. Shape mixture into 1 inch balls; roll balls in sugar.
3. Store in tightly covered container for at least three days before serving. This allows flavors to mellow.
4. Keeps up to two weeks in the container.
