No this does not have corn meal in it. I got this recipe over 30 years ago from a coworker. My husbands favorite.

Directions

  1. Mix ingredients well with a spoon pour in a well greased 9x13 pan bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes depending on oven.
  2. Watch and do not over bake.
  3. Cool well cut into squares.

How can you call it Corn Bread Cake when there is no CORN in it?

The recipe I have for this cake calls for the pecans to be ground in a food processor. The ground pecans give the cake a "cornbread texture". <br/><br/>Nice cake, not overly sweet.
