Coffee Drop Cookies

"This great little drop cookie is from Household Searchlight cookbook, and a recipe that I grew up making...it was the first recipe I was ever given free reign of the kitchen with...they are great with cold milk or a cup of hot coffee or cocoa."

  1. This is a very forgiving recipe! I messed up and got the order of ingredients wrong, but the cookies came out tasty in spite of me. I left out the raisins at my family's insistence, but did use chopped walnuts. A nice little treat! Made for Alphabet Soup Tag.

  2. I chose to surprise my DH this morning by making them for him. These are different but yet very good. Very easy to make! The next time I make them I will add coconut to ours, my DH favorite. Thanks for posting this recipe for us to try. My DH loved them~

I love to cook anything, enjoy learning new techniques, the more people to cook for the happier I am. I collect cookbooks, honestly don't have a favorite...I seldom use a recipe for anything other than an idea ( I have to now say that Zaar has changed that, I make it the first time by the recipe so I can fairly review it, then tweak or change the second time if I like it enough to make again and personalize it). I make everything from scratch and I guess if I have to pick a favorite, baking and canning would be my favorites. Zaar has given me the gift of meeting so many great people and 1 bestest friend..Free-Free and I met when we were paired for the Egg Cup Swap and we've attached to each other. Her spirit and determination sometimes leave me in awe. The miles don't matter, we have a blast! NanaLee is a great friend too...she is a very special lady with lots of heart and soul. I have 11 grandchildren, and just found out we have another one on the way.., 1 son, 3 daughters, DH flys Ultralights and supports my Zaar addiction happily, a couple of the swaps he's given a nudge on..(BarBQue for one). We work together, play together...makes life interesting. One daughter never caught the cooking bug but but my oldest granddaughter did..she's 10 and wants cooking "tools" for birthdays and Christmas...grammie is glad to oblige. My daughter in Phoenix has the cooking bug and is already doing a great job...she'll be cooking really tricky stuff before long.. It pleases me greatly that she is interested in something that I love so much. I have a cat named "ChooChoo", she's a russian blue that knows the purpose of the door knob...if she had fingers she'd be out the door all the time, she spends alot of time with her paws on the knob.
