  • Scald coffee with milk.
  • Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt and well beaten eggs.
  • Strain milk; add gradually to sugar mixture.
  • Add butter; cook in a double boiler until thick and creamy, stirring constantly.
  • Add vanilla and cool.
